Alice Bosc
Strategic Designer & Developer
About
I'm Alice Bosc — a solo strategic designer and developer specialising in the built environment. I work directly with directors and partners at architecture, engineering and development practices across London and internationally.
I spent several years working in-house at Make Architects in London — one of the UK's most respected large practices. That experience gave me something most designers working with the built environment don't have: a genuine understanding of how practices think, how they communicate, and what they actually need from design.
I understand the difference between a bid document and a capability statement. I know why architects distrust marketing language, and how to write for a planning committee versus a developer. I know that a website used by a 60-person practice has very different needs from one used by a five-person studio — and I design accordingly.
Studio — London
Since founding Alice Bosc Studio in 2015, I've worked exclusively with practices in the built environment. Not because it's a niche — but because depth of expertise produces better work than breadth. Every project I take on benefits from ten years of accumulated knowledge about how this sector operates, what its clients respond to, and what good design looks like in context.
My partner is an architect. I spend time on sites, in planning meetings and at RIBA events. The built environment isn't a client sector for me — it's the world I live in. That's what makes the difference.

Approach
These aren't values written for a website. They're the principles that shape every decision I make — from the first client conversation to the final pixel.
01
Good-looking design that doesn't serve a clear strategic purpose is expensive decoration. I start with positioning, audience and objectives — then design from there.
02
I don't use templates, stock imagery or generic solutions. Every project is built from scratch for the specific practice, their specific audience and their specific ambitions.
03
The best design communicates clearly and immediately. I strip away anything that doesn't earn its place — in layouts, in copy, in navigation, in brand systems.
04
The practices I work with best are the ones I build long-term relationships with — understanding their trajectory over years, not just delivering a one-off project. That's when design really works.

Working with me
A maximum of 6–7 per year, with no more than 2–3 running simultaneously. This isn't artificial scarcity — it's the only way to give each practice the strategic attention their project deserves. When you work with me, you have my full focus.
Yes. A significant proportion of the practices I work with are based internationally — across Europe, the Middle East and North America. Design and strategy work well remotely, and I'm experienced in running projects across time zones without losing momentum.
I'm currently on maternity leave until early 2027. The studio is operating in a limited capacity — the website and content are running autonomously. If you'd like to discuss a project for 2027, get in touch now and I'll be in touch on my return.
The studio is not taking on new active projects during my leave. However, existing client relationships continue to be supported on a minimal basis for urgent matters. All new project enquiries are being logged for follow-up from early 2027.
Both. Around half my projects are digital — websites, interactive maps, CMS builds. The other half are print or brand — publications, pitch decks, identity systems, annual reports. Many projects combine both. The sector specialism is what holds it together, not the medium.
A 30-minute call — no pitch, no deck. I want to understand what you're trying to achieve, what's not working currently, and whether I'm the right person to help. If I'm not, I'll say so and try to point you in the right direction. If I am, we'll agree next steps from there.
Currently on maternity leave.
Returning to new projects in 2027.
